Our Purpose is Treatment
It is reported that the state of mental health in Canada has gotten worse since the pandemic, despite additional awareness and talk campaigns.
Current waitlists for publicly funded inpatient treatment programs are exceeding four to six months in provinces across Canada and, as we know, the outcomes are often dire when people with substance use disorders and mental health illness have to wait.
New Start Foundation for Addiction and Mental Health is a national organization dedicated to funding treatment. We understand that living with the challenges of mental health and addiction is overwhelming and can feel hopeless. At New Start, we are here to restore your sense of self and inspire you to feel hopeful as you begin your journey toward recovery.
With compassion and a belief in positive long-term outcomes, New Start Foundation supports individuals and families as they begin the recovery process with the opportunity to receive the right care at the right time. We assess clinical need, navigate the complex process of finding the right treatment facility, and ultimately fund inpatient program for Canadians with use disorders and related mental health concerns.
We believe access to treatment at high-quality, evidence-based, and medically-assisted facilities should be a right, not a privilege.
